Statement from Teranet on the death of Jeffrey Lem, Director of Titles

The Teranet family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jeffrey Lem, Director of Titles for the Province of Ontario. Jeff brought a wealth of academic and private practice experience to his work in public service. He will be remembered as a significant partner to the real property legal community in Ontario.

Jeff was an extraordinary professional deservingly recognized for his expertise and immense contributions to the legal community and for his enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and experience.

Jeff worked tirelessly throughout his career as a mentor and advocate for legal excellence. Many have been and will remain inspired by him. “While Jeff was an authoritative Land Titles voice, he was also always open to debate, and he did so with expertise, passion, and wit. Jeff was a long-time leader within the legal community, not only as the Director of Titles, but also as an expert and foremost contributor during the previous years when the legal community shaped the practice and system for land titles registration,” said Elgin Farewell, Teranet’s President and CEO. “I join those in mourning who have had the privilege of working with him.”
