Access to Teraview has seen changes over the years – from floppy disks and USB sticks to house your user profile to logging in on the web to hard tokens for two-factor authentication. Nowadays, the use of smartphones for everyday tasks is prevalent, making soft tokens the most convenient option for your authentication needs. Soft tokens are also free, easy to use, and can be transferred between devices, as needed. Teraview users who require a token to sign documents are encouraged to select the soft token option for this purpose.
Effective November 1, 2021 a fee of $50.00 + HST will be applicable for Teraview users who wish request a hard token. There will be no fee for Teraview users who request a soft token.

What are the advantages of selecting a soft token?

- As most of us take our phones everywhere your token will always be readily available – no need to worry about making sure you have your hard token with you if you transition between working from the office or working remotely.
- Soft tokens have a longer expiry date compared to hard tokens: 14 years for a soft token compared to five years for a hard token.
What happens if I lose my hard token?
If you lose your hard token, you will have to purchase a replacement hard token. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Teraview Customer Service.
