The Teraview e-reg capability         Documents en Français
Electronic commerce is revolutionizing the way business is done, and land titles registrations are no exception. The Teraview e-reg capability has been designed to streamline, modernize and enhance Ontario's land registration system.

Equipped with two unique features, search and registration, the e-reg capability provides quick and convenient access to the POLARIS database. With the e-reg search capability you have access to:

  • Parcel registers/Abstract index from the POLARIS database
  • POLARIS maps
  • Copies of documents registered on title
  • Copies of plans

You can identify adjoining properties to a parcel and automatically search those parcels by using the POLARIS map. Download copies of the official parcel register as well as registered instruments directly to your PC and print on your laser printer. Detailed instructions on how to conduct a search through e-reg are contained in the section More on e-reg Searching.

Through electronic registration, title documents can easily be created, submitted and maintained in electronic form. These documents are created and modified "online" on behalf of all parties. Not only does electronic registration provide timely and accurate title information it improves accuracy and integrity of the database through document pre-population.

To facilitate easier document preparation, Teranet and financial institutions operating in Ontario are working together to establish a single location to retrieve mortgage schedules and additional provisions which can be attached electronically to the charge as part of the registration process.

As additional Land Registry Offices adopt electronic registration, registrants are provided with a transition period where both paper and electronic land titles documents will be accepted for registration. At the end of the transition period, electronic registrations will be accepted as per the regulations under the Land Registration Reform Act. Check out the electronic registration roll-out schedule.

Central to the e-reg system is the use of digital "signatures" to ensure protection of all parties involved in the transaction. A Personal Security Package (PSP) will enable users to legally sign and submit title documents for registration.
